What is a great flow? What should come after something?
Imagine life as a carefully curated playlist. I was listening to one of my own playlists; songs chosen not for their tempo or typical radio appeal, but because they said something that resonated. After listening for a while, the order of the songs just made sense. I’d anticipate the next song, regardless of the vibe of the one that just played.
Take Spotify’s “liked songs” playlist, for example. I usually lean on that list when I’m not fixated on a specific mood but just want to dive into a stream of great songs. Over time, I’ve learned to trust that the next track will fit seamlessly, like it was always meant to follow the last.
This got me thinking about life as an ever-evolving playlist. Much like my music, our lives aren’t about rigid plans or sticking to a single vibe. They’re about trusting that, as long as you’re open, each moment will naturally connect to the one before it; even if it comes in an unexpected form.
Often, we set out with a clear idea of what we want, a rhythm we think we must follow. Yet, it’s those unplanned moments that frequently leave the deepest impact, like an unexpected song in your favorite playlist that suddenly feels just right. In retrospect, every experience, each twist, turn, or surprise; finds its place in the larger narrative of our lives.
Every song in a playlist carries a story that only makes complete sense when seen as part of the whole. Similarly, our experiences, no matter how disconnected they may seem at the moment, build on one another, creating a flow that defines who we are. The beauty lies in trusting that the next moment will fit, even if you can’t see the whole picture right away.
So whether you’re crafting a playlist or living life, the key is to trust the flow. Embrace the unexpected transitions, knowing that every song, every experience, fits perfectly into the story you’re creating. In the end, you have the power to make it all make sense.
