The header is what I wanted to type earlier in the day. It’s 11pm in Nairobi, I’m exhausted, my eyes watery, and I don’t know if that header still applies. But I wouldn’t change it.
I started the day with a meeting, one with one of Nairobi’s biggest food brands. I wanted to understand gaps to validate Fungry’s product. The meeting went super well, they wanted to integrate our API. A solution I thought I’d only be able to sell in future, when I had built certain data sets. I left the meeting bubbly and excited and got to a conference where I had to be.
Met someone else who ran a food delivery platform, sold the product to him, he introduced me to his CTO and bam, another B2B customer.
Told the team we had to get on a sprint to launch a version by weekend and then this evening we started discussing execution. Realised i had a clear business in the B2B API and I had to focus on it. Execution turned out to be hard and while I had fun in the process, one hour after, I was exhausted.
Oh, I was on a padel court for the entirety of this. Couldn’t play because of this.
I’m leaving the title because I don’t expect it to be easy. I got a great reception from someone who didn’t need to give me one. I had an answer waiting for me. The execution isn’t expected to fall on my lap as well.
So today, I’m grateful for answers even in the face of unclear questions, and I’m looking forward to the next month of solving the challenge that is Fungry.
