My previous post has context on what I’m about to say so check that out first?
Did the run this evening with my neighbour as my pacer. First, I feel like evenings are bad for me because I haven’t had the best experiences running in the evenings. But my body was feeling up for it, and I said, why not?
Anyway, I did it. Third time was the charm. Broke the mental block and got it done.
For context, it was 5 x 1km at 5:25/km. This would’ve been easy for me last year, but I’m not at my best fitness right now.
The first lap wasn’t hard. The first day I did it, I breezed through the first lap and maxed out by the second. The second day, I made it to the third lap. Today, I knew I could do the first three. I just didn’t know how I’d get through the fourth and fifth. Thankful to my pacer, who was really just there showing me I could do it.
Got home with all the energy in the world. I did it. I felt good.
Did some work, spoke to friends and family. Didn’t even eat.
I feel good, and perhaps we’ll tackle that startup problem tomorrow, as I promised.
All is well that starts well, because this is just the beginning… Thinking of signing up for the Berlin Marathon this year.
